Happy New Year! It's been a while since I last updated the site, so here's a rundown of what I've been doing recently. In November I was working on St. Lucia's new LP, assistant engineering on those sessions. We'll be starting up again in February. I also assisted on Jack + Eliza's new LP. They're young, 60s inspired kids with a ton of a talent, and they were a pleasure to work with.
I finished work on Tica Douglas' new LP Joey in the Fall, and it will be released in February. It's a very honest, very intimate and raw piece of work, and I'm so excited for it to be released. Some records offer a window into the artist's persona and soul, and this is one of those records. We recorded it in a barn in New Gloucester, Maine this summer, with additional tracking and mixing happening at my own Wonder Room Recording in Manhattan.
In December I recorded a new single for Corbu, who I've worked with before on their last EP. It's a sprawling, immersive track combining elements of kraut-rock, psychedelic, and electronic pop. Finishing overdubs now and it should be out before the Spring.
I've been producing a new band called Wet Leather on their debut LP. They draw from the late 70s/early 80s as much as the current musical climate, and are a great band with great tunes. Not to mention lovely dudes. We'll continue working on the LP over the Spring.
Also this Fall I mixed a record for a new band called The Wandering Lake. Many of the songs have a Beatles solo record vibe, with a modern indie sound as well. They just released a preview EP of the full album, which you can check out here.
Lastly, I just wrapped work on the new Double King LP. We started writing songs over a year ago, and we've been recording and reworking the tunes since the summer. We did all drums at Seaside Lounge and everything else at Wonder Room. Jake Aron and I will be mixing it at Doctor Wu's in Williamsburg, and Chris Gehringer at Sterling Sound will master it. It should see release in May.
Otherwise, I'm producing for a new post-punk band called Diary, and I'm writing and producing tracks for an R and B record by Nick Williams from Twin Wave. More updates to come on these releases.
